Questions

Frequently asked

Does spinal decompression hurt?

Treatment should be adjusted to the individual and tolerance. Experiences vary; tell the clinician about discomfort or symptom changes.

Is decompression the same as chiropractic?

No. Decompression uses controlled mechanical distraction; chiropractic encompasses evaluation and manual or instrument-assisted approaches. They may be used separately or together when appropriate.

Can decompression treat a herniated disc?

Patients with disc herniation commonly seek decompression evaluations, but diagnosis alone does not guarantee candidacy or outcome.

Can it help sciatica?

Some sciatica-type presentations may be related to disc or spinal factors for which decompression is considered. Sciatica has multiple potential causes, so evaluation matters.

How many treatments will I need?

There is no responsible universal number. Recommendations depend on the condition and response.

Do I need an MRI?

Not every patient needs new imaging, but existing imaging can be useful and additional imaging may be recommended when clinically indicated.

Is DRX9000 different from ordinary traction?

The 2024 DRX9000 is a dedicated decompression platform with controlled treatment parameters. Equipment features do not eliminate the need for appropriate diagnosis and case selection.
